Boundary | The Evident

Muhammed and his friend Arun, studied in the same school. Not a day went past theme in which they haven’t recounted the celebrated memories of the friendship between their fathers, Kunjahmad and Kumar. It was like they too inherited the very same spirit of champion ship their fathers cherished.

One day, during casual evening stroll, Muhammed and Arun happened to come across a beggar to destitute by the street. They took sook time asking him of his of life in the days gone. He gave theme to know that he was from a village in Tamil Nadu, that he had to leave his birthplace due to aggressive social discrimination, and that he was good in playing football, but could not pursue a career in the sport he belonged to a caste of low hierarchical status. He explained almost sadness how religion cast create boundaries that could not be challenged individually. He also let them to know of the inability of his teacher to act in this respect, given the pervasive social attribute in favour of cast system, when he complained to her on the disrespect he was being subject to.

This short conversation got under the skin of Muhammed. He was deeply irritated by this short of social evils which hinder the society of potential actualization. Both Muhammed and Arun reflect upon the situation of neighbour states where Muslim and others minorities are subjected to communal violence and discrimination. They despised the socio-political condition of the country they live in.

The next day in calendar marked Muhammed’s birthday. As was the costume of village, he invited the teachers in his madrasa-who were properly called Usthads to home. It was a tradition the when so ever an Usthad attend to the feast, he would recite some verses and then below steadily to food prepared. The Usthad who had arrived at Muhammed’s home to follow by tradition and below into the food. Arun, Somehow, happened to see this, and viewing it strange and dubious, formed at Muhammed and left the party abruptly.

Muhammed was heavily disturbed by seeing his friend getting off suddenly, not knowing why he has to do so. He tried his level best to call Arun back to the fest. Yet, Arun didn’t seem to have taken a bit of care regarding his call. The party continued and Muhammed tried vaguely to cover his sadness with a smile.

Resolved to know what really has happened, Muhammed picked some sweet and birthday delicious and set out to Arun’s home. within a couple minute he reached there knocked the door and Arun happened to open it. Muhammed handed over what he has brought to Arun, only to see him throw and spill it after. In addition, Arun started showing ill word regarding the Usthad.

Muhammed was heavily moved by this incident and left Arun’s home in gloom. It was then not before a long period. That a wall was built, separating their homes from each other forever. Thus, a new boundary was made. Yet, the long narrow root of the young mango tree that stood in the courtyard of Muhammed’s home still connected their fathers, albeit they were in their graves sad about their children and the wall.
