Breathless City

The sky awakened in shades of grey,
And every soul at home did stay.
A permanent mask etched our face,
For without it, a man would lose his case.
A baby gazed at clouds of grey;
They roared their sorrow in a thunderous way.
People stretched my soft bones,
And I was left lonely in a still zone.
Factories poured polluted haze into the azure,
Cars exhaled stifling soot into the azure.
The city gasped beneath its own despair,
As suffocating winds swallowed every breath of air.
