He was 72 years old. It was just months ago that he had his major pacemaker surgery due to a heart-related ailment. After his passing, his mortal remains were taken to Malihabad, near Lucknow. There, following the completion of official religious final rites and a Janaza prayer with massive public attendance, he was laid to rest.
Maulana Nadwi held a frontline position among those who breathed life into the legacy of Nadwa in Lucknow. Therefore, his passing is not merely the loss of an individual, but the loss of an entire generation. Scholars never truly die; they continue to live on through their students and their writings.
